Seven Cactus is on tabloid Wanita Indonesia

It wasn't a feature interview, only an article about making a homemade soap. Did a tutorial of a simple oatmeal soap using only three oils (palm, coconut, olive), and it was fun!

Nevertheless, any publicity is good I reckon..

Animal Mini Series

The inspiration came from this amazing guy...

First, I made the orange base, then cut with cookie cutters. I then made another batch which I colored with black oxide, and fill the cavities.

I must say, this technique was time consuming! If I ever want to do it again, I would prolly do it the other way around, that is I'll place the cuts in the mold and fill the surroundings.

I scent this one with a fun and fresh scent: yuzu

Before the orange and black soaps, I did this one to practice.. 

The soaps ended up with different sizes, LOL! I haven't yet mastered the art of cutting in thin slices, and it didn't help that I didn't have a proper cutter for this style of cutting. My cheese slicer can be so temperamental, I blamed it for the uneven soaps!

I would like to try and make this again someday..

New Eucalyptus Soap

I have abandoned this blog for quite a while, too busy soaping and being a lazy ass to blog and upload pics and such.

I am in love with the hanger swirl technique lately. I admit, at first, I was a nervous wreck, but I think it's normal when one is trying a new technique, right?

Okay, so here it is..

Just for fun, I put the mold at an elevated angle and poured each color. Then I swirled and messed with the top a bit for finishing touch. Colorants were green oxide, titanium dioxide, and for the lighter green I mixed some green oxide with a dash of cellini yellow oxide, and a bit of titanium dioxide as well.

Scent was eucalyptus eo. My mom has already booked a couple of bars for her personal use. She looooovveeee eucalyptus.

Purple Cupcakes From Last Night

I made 6 of them.. Here they are free from their molds..

I haven't name them yet... hmmm...

Whyyyyy do you need a long time to cure? :(

Purple Hearts White Musk

Today I decided to make a small loaf using my favorite scent: white musk

You can't see it yet as the soap is still stuck in the mold, but inside there are 3 layers: pale purple, white, and a darker purple. I did it using CP, with the exception of the top layer, which is whipped soap (I loooveee whipped soap. I'll tell you why later in another post). The heart ornaments are MP.

I had fun doing this one :)

Eeeeekk.. I was using an iPhone box as a mold, LOL!

I think this loaf will produce around 4 bars..

Miniature Milkshake Candles

I went to the grocery store sometime ago, and found these adorable mini milkshake glasses. They're the size of a shooter glass, more or less.. but yeah, you got the picture of how tiny they are..

I couldn't resist :D

Was having a tough time with the whipped wax portion for the top. I was gonna pipe it, but boy it went hard FAST.. like seconds.. by the time I finished putting the wax into the piping bag it was too hard already :(

I was heartbroken!

Still having a war b/w me and whipped wax.. seriously, I need to WIN this one..

Well, I guess I need more reading, more research, more trial and error.. more brokenhearts :D :D
